The End Of Pandora Incense? Missouri Says Yes

Unfortunately, both the Missouri House and Senate have passed bills, making the production, sale, or possession of herbal blends containing JWH-018 illegal. We expect the bill to be signed into law by Governor Jay Nixon. As a result, our distribution centerĀ  in Missouri has been forced to close its doors.

Today may be the last day you can order Pandora Potpourri, as we’ve already made arrangements with local law enforcement agencies to surrender any remaining inventory, and have the product destroyed upon passage of the law. Ironically, this means our incense will be sent to the burn pile, where it will be used exactly as intended, lit and allowed to smolder. Apparently, law enforcement knows something about proper use that lawmakers can’t seem to get.

We are disappointed to be part of a country that will take away the freedoms of many to protect a few from their own stupidity. Here’s another example of lawmakers reacting to a perceived problem. The truth is that enhanced incense products have been available for several years, with no known abuse. It wasn’t until lawmakers brought this “problem” to the public’s attention, that it even became a problem.

Politicians, like State Senator Kurt Schaefer, failed to recognize that the incense manufacturing industry discourages abuse of it’s product. In fact, the entire industry has warned against consumption of the products, and clearly label their products with appropriate warnings. Lawmakers, like State Representative Ward Frantz, claim that herbal incenses were developed as an alternative to illegal drugs. The truth is the incense industry wanted to create new relaxing blends. Traditionally, relaxing herbal incense blends contained extracts or oils of relaxing plants and flowers, such as lavender or chamomile. These are great solutions for aromatherapy, but limit the number of available scents for home use. To create truly unique scents the industry needed to find a relaxing alternative, and JWH-018 was the available answer. Fragrances such as root beer, apple pie, and even vanilla would not exist if the industry was forced to use lavender oil in every relaxing incense.

Effectively what lawmakers have done, is take away relaxing incense blends for everyone, because a few choose to abuse it.
